The mercury sure dropped this past week and it was even time to don the toque. We talked paint with Martin Nichols of 2 Brothers Painting this morning, and right off the top he said it’s time to go inside. Outdoor painting is done for the season he says. “It’s just too damp”. He answers the hard questions and puts a fresh coat on.
Nearly each show, we have a question / comment that we throw out to the listeners. Sure enough, the calls and answers / experiences come in. Todd from Langley did just that. He asked about finding a good mover. Movers are contractors, so, check three or four, check their references, and, particularly with moving, CHECK FOR INSURANCE. Who would pack up all of their worldly possessions and let someone drive down the street without insurance? Hmmm. Jim, Germaine and Kristin all offered their experience and preference for movers.
Joan, from The Sunshine Coast, called in and was distraught with some scratches on her stainless steel wall oven. With advice from a colleague, I told her to use 000 steel wool in the direction of the grain. Admittedly, the information came to me from a plumber and was likely intended for a stainless steel sink. Fortunately for Joan, Norm called in right away and set us on a better path as said to use a burgundy Scotch-Brite pad instead. The steel wool will scratch the steel further and allow organic deposits to collect and be a bigger problem. Another suggestion is to use toothpaste or “Mother’s” polish to aid in the “cutting”.
Well, there’s more on the podcast for your enjoyment.
Until next time……
